The way we watched TV

Filed under: General — François Schiettecatte @ 1:03 pm

I sometimes wonder if we will even look back on the last 50 years of TV watching as the “bad ol’ days of TV watching” where shows we on at certain times and we were limited in what we could watch and where we could watch.

I also wonder what the next 50 years will bring?

  1. There’s something to be said for regular old tv watching at scheduled times. I mean I watch my fair share of ‘unscheduled’ programming, but sometimes being spoiled for choice is crippling.

  2. I hated watching TV shows at set times, and while it was easy to set the VCR to record the show, it was a pain to do week after week.

Choice is always good, I have lived in countries where there was only one channel, mostly propaganda, I can tell you that the end of that spectrum is no fun at all. I deal with choice by prioritizing the shows I want to watch.
