Perian

Perian has finally gone 1.0. For those who don’t know Perian is a Quicktime component which adds support for many video formats not supported natively by Quicktime. This is a must if you want to watch video on the Mac.

You might also want to take a look at VLC, an alternative video player for the Mac which supports lots of video formats.
