WEP was known to be pretty weak, and lots of tools, such as Kismac, have appeared which allow it to be to easily cracked (which I have done once to recover a forgotten WEP key.)
Up to now, it could still take time to crack WEP, some routers were weaker than others, but now everyone is vulnerable given 120 seconds.
At this point, there should really no excuse for using WEP for WiFi security.
hell even wpa is weak now…wpa2 bare minimum
